Paver Savers performed a Efflorence Treatment, Surface Cleaning & Pressure Washing, Polymeric Sand Install and Natural Stone Sealer to my front and backyard pavers. I had a couple sections with stubborn efflorence that they were able to remove as shown below. I strongly recommend using them rather than trying to do it yourself, its worth the costs. They have professional equipment and personnel that know what they're doing. The owner Jon and foreman Gino were a pleasure to deal with.

Paver Savers cleaned our pavers and restored the polymeric sand. All the unsightly moss and old sand were removed and replaced with a minimum of mess or cleanup. They came when they promised, and they completed the job quickly. The result is great; we have a beautifully clean and well detailed driveway. I would highly recommend them. John C. Holbrook

Paver Savers came highly recommended and rightfully so. Jon spoke with my wife and I and did not rush us off the phone. He agreed to a time and date convenient for us. He arrived when he said he would and we walked around the house. He made an accurate assessment of what was needed to be done and gave us a very fair quote. He answered all our questions and provided a detailed synopsis of all the work that was to be performed. He suggested sand colors which were totally in line with what matched our pavers and made it easy for our discerning eyes to choose a color. He also gave us the pros and cons of clear versus colored coatings, making it easy to choose. We only had to wait a few days for the work to commence, contingent on the weather. Jon explained that any rainy weather would not be conducive to a good result and he completed the cleaning and sand application on a beautiful rain-free day. The stones looked brand new! The clear coating was applied on the next rain-free day and the results were astounding! The clean and coated pavers make our property appearance renewed. We've already received compliments on how nice the property looks, thanks to a job well done!

Jon and his team were a lifesaver for our patio. We were constantly getting weeds and ant hills through the cracks of our patio. Jons team was efficient and make the process quick for us. Once we booked Jon gave us his cell number and answered every question I had especially since we have a dog so we were nervous. He gave us all the tips and tricks to make it last longer and our pavers look brand new. Couldn’t thank him enough.

John and his crew were professional , neat and clean. They made my pool pavers, steps and walkways look brand new at a very good price point, considering the work went into into a project like mine. They literally saved my pavers, true to their name. John was honest and fair and most importantly truthful. Everything he told me I was in for happened just as he explained it up front. No surprises. No upselling. Stuck to his estimate and was there when he said he would be. Easy to communicate and schedule with. Great job and a stress free experience.

I highly recommend Long Island Paver Savers. Jon was a pleasure to work with and delivered on all aspects of the job. The crew was neat, efficient and very professional. Pavers are such a nice embellishment to a home but if they are soiled and lack their original luster it’s nothing but an eyesore. This was well worth the investment and I am extremely satisfied with the final result. Once again I highly recommend this company and you won’t be disappointed!

Nearly 50 Years Combined Experience

Our team has spent decades working on Long Island hardscapes — we know exactly what nor'easters, road salt, and freeze-thaw cycles do to pavers here.

Fully Licensed and Insured

We're fully licensed under New York's construction regulations and carry comprehensive insurance — your property is protected from the first day to the last.

Polymeric Sand on Every Job

We replace joint sand with polymeric sand on every cleaning job — the step that stops weeds and ants from coming back within weeks.

Family-Owned, Long Island Based

We're based in West Babylon and have served Nassau and Suffolk County homeowners for years — this is our home too, not just a service area.

A backyard with a patio area made of interlocking pavers, featuring a built-in fire pit on the left and an in-ground swimming pool with a curved edge on the right. Recently serviced by Paver Repair Nassau County, a white vinyl fence encloses the space, with green shrubs and trees visible in the background.

Professional Paver Cleaning Long Island

What Your Pavers Actually Need to Look Right Again

Most Long Island homeowners have tried the garden hose. Some have rented a pressure washer. And most of them ended up with the same result — surfaces that looked better for a week, then went right back to green, stained, and dull. That’s not a cleaning problem. It’s an approach problem. Professional paver cleaning isn’t just about pressure. It starts with a thorough assessment of your specific paver material and stain types, followed by targeted pre-treatment for oil, rust, and efflorescence — the deposits that a pressure washer alone can’t touch. From there, we use commercial-grade hot water pressure washing with a surface cleaner that covers the entire surface evenly, without the stripe marks a wand leaves behind. Then we remove loose joint sand, replace it with polymeric sand, and leave the surface ready for sealing if that’s the next step. That full process is what gets you results that hold up through the next Long Island winter — not just through the weekend.

Paver Cleaning and Restoration Results

What You'll See After We're Done

Customers across Nassau and Suffolk County consistently tell us the same thing: their pavers look like the day they were first installed.

Stains, algae, and embedded grime that have built up over years come out completely — not just lightened.

Weeds and ants stop coming back because the joints are properly filled with polymeric sand, not loose material they can push through.

Faded, dull pavers regain their original color — a color-enhancing sealer can take them even further if that's what you want.

You stop worrying about shifting pavers and trip hazards because we identify structural issues during the assessment, not after the job is done.

Your driveway, patio, or pool surround looks clean and maintained — the kind of difference that's visible from the street.

The results last years, not weeks, because every step of the process is done in the right order with the right materials for your specific paver type.

Long Island Paver Damage Explained

Long Island Winters Are Harder on Pavers Than Most People Realize

Long Island experiences 30 to 40 freeze-thaw cycles every single winter. That’s not a rough estimate — it’s what happens when temperatures swing above and below freezing repeatedly from November through March. Every time water gets into your paver joints and freezes, it expands with up to 25,000 psi of internal pressure. Over a few seasons, that force widens gaps, shifts pavers, and turns a solid surface into an uneven, weed-prone mess. Add road salt to the picture — which can travel up to 150 feet from passing plows — and the coastal salt air that reaches properties near the Great South Bay, Long Island Sound, and the Atlantic, and you have a compounded assault that unsealed pavers simply aren’t built to handle on their own. Homes in coastal Nassau and Suffolk County towns often need resealing every two to three years rather than the standard four to five, because the exposure is that much more intense. This is why we don’t treat Long Island paver cleaning the same way a general pressure washing company might. The climate here is specific, and the approach needs to match it.

Brick Paver Cleaning and Sealing Process

What a Real Paver Cleaning Job Actually Includes

When we show up to clean your pavers — whether it’s a driveway in Massapequa, NY, a patio in Plainview, NY, or a pool surround in Ronkonkoma, NY — the job follows a consistent, thorough process. We start with a property assessment to understand the paver material, the stain types, and any structural concerns. Concrete pavers, brick pavers, natural stone like bluestone and travertine, and porcelain all respond differently to cleaning agents and pressure levels, so that first step isn’t a formality. From there, we apply targeted pre-treatment to specific problem areas before any pressure washing begins. Oil stains, rust, and efflorescence each require a different chemistry — skipping this step is why DIY attempts and cheaper jobs leave residue behind. We use a commercial surface cleaner rather than a wand, which means uniform pressure across the entire surface and no stripe marks. After washing, we remove loose joint sand and replace it with polymeric sand, which hardens when activated and resists erosion, weeds, and ant infiltration. If sealing is part of the project, the surface dries fully before any sealant is applied — because sealing over a damp surface is one of the most common reasons paver jobs fail within a season.
A paved patio featuring interlocking bricks in various shades of grey and red. Some areas show signs of weathering and discoloration, suggesting the need for paver restoration Suffolk County services. The edges are bordered with greenery, and a large potted plant is partially visible in the top left corner.
Paver Cleaning Services FAQs

Common questions about Paver Cleaning Services

You can, but the results will be noticeably different — and not always in a good way. The piece of equipment that separates professional paver cleaning from a rental job is the commercial 20-inch surface cleaner. Without it, a wand leaves stripe marks across the surface and can erode joint sand with direct, concentrated pressure.Beyond the equipment gap, there’s the pre-treatment step — applying the right chemistry to oil stains, rust, or efflorescence before any water hits the surface. That step requires specific products and knowledge of what you’re actually dealing with. A pressure washer rental runs $55 to $145, but without the right approach, you risk damaging the joints or locking in stains that get harder to remove later. Most homeowners who’ve tried it once end up calling us anyway.
For most Long Island properties, a cleaning and sealing cycle every three to five years is a reasonable starting point. But that window shortens considerably depending on where you live on Long Island. If your home is near the Great South Bay, Long Island Sound, or anywhere along the south shore, the constant salt air exposure accelerates surface degradation — coastal properties in towns like Freeport, NY and Babylon, NY often need resealing every two to three years to stay protected. The timing within the year matters too. The best window to seal on Long Island runs from late August through mid-November, before ground temperatures drop below 50°F. Once it gets colder than that, sealants can’t bond correctly, and the results won’t hold through winter.
Polymeric sand is a specially formulated joint filler that, when activated with water, hardens and locks into place between your pavers. Regular sand — the kind that comes with most paver installations — erodes over time from rain, foot traffic, and freeze-thaw movement.Once the joints lose their fill, weeds find their way in, ants start nesting, and the pavers themselves begin to shift. Polymeric sand solves all three problems. It resists erosion, blocks organic growth, and stabilizes the surface so pavers stay in place. We replace joint sand with polymeric sand on every cleaning job we do — it’s not an add-on, it’s part of the process. Most generic pressure washing companies skip this step entirely, which is why their results don’t last.
In most cases, replacement isn’t necessary — and it’s almost always the more expensive path by a wide margin. New paver installation runs significantly more per square foot than professional cleaning and restoration. We’ve cleaned and restored pavers that homeowners were convinced were beyond saving — 15-year-old driveways, stained and shifted pool surrounds, patios that had gone completely green with algae — and the results looked like a fresh install. The honest answer is that we won’t know for certain until we assess the surface in person. If there are structural issues — cracked pavers, a compromised base, significant shifting — we’ll tell you that directly. But if the problem is cosmetic, which it usually is, restoration is the right call.
Yes. The pre-treatment agents we apply are fully rinsed away during the washing process, leaving no residue on the surface after the job is complete. We take care around planted areas and landscaping, and the rinse process is thorough enough that nothing harmful remains once everything dries. If you have specific concerns about a particular area of your property — a vegetable garden close to the patio, a dog run adjacent to the driveway — bring it up when we do the initial assessment and we’ll plan around it. We’ve worked around plenty of Long Island backyards with pools, gardens, and kids’ play areas, and it’s never been an issue.
We clean concrete pavers, brick pavers, and natural stone — including bluestone, travertine, limestone, granite, and marble — as well as porcelain pavers. Each material requires a different approach: natural stone like travertine is more porous and requires gentler pressure and specific cleaning agents, while concrete pavers can handle more aggressive pre-treatment for embedded staining. As for surfaces, we cover driveways, patios, walkways, pool surrounds, retaining walls, flowerbed edging, and entrance stairways. Whether it’s a residential patio in North Wantagh, NY or a commercial property in Ronkonkoma, NY, the process is the same — assess first, clean right, and leave the surface better than we found it.

Assessment and Pre-Treatment

We evaluate your paver type, stain types, and joint condition before applying targeted pre-treatment to problem areas — this is what gets the deep stains out.

Commercial Surface Cleaning

We pressure wash using a commercial surface cleaner calibrated to your specific paver material — uniform results, no stripe marks, no joint erosion from a direct wand blast.

Polymeric Sand and Sealing

We remove loose joint sand, install polymeric sand to lock out weeds and ants, and apply the right sealant once the surface is completely dry.
