Paver Savers performed a Efflorence Treatment, Surface Cleaning & Pressure Washing, Polymeric Sand Install and Natural Stone Sealer to my front and backyard pavers. I had a couple sections with stubborn efflorence that they were able to remove as shown below. I strongly recommend using them rather than trying to do it yourself, its worth the costs. They have professional equipment and personnel that know what they're doing. The owner Jon and foreman Gino were a pleasure to deal with.Posted on Google![]()

Paver Savers cleaned our pavers and restored the polymeric sand. All the unsightly moss and old sand were removed and replaced with a minimum of mess or cleanup. They came when they promised, and they completed the job quickly. The result is great; we have a beautifully clean and well detailed driveway. I would highly recommend them. John C. Paver Savers came highly recommended and rightfully so. Jon spoke with my wife and I and did not rush us off the phone. He agreed to a time and date convenient for us. He arrived when he said he would and we walked around the house. He made an accurate assessment of what was needed to be done and gave us a very fair quote. He answered all our questions and provided a detailed synopsis of all the work that was to be performed. He suggested sand colors which were totally in line with what matched our pavers and made it easy for our discerning eyes to choose a color. He also gave us the pros and cons of clear versus colored coatings, making it easy to choose. We only had to wait a few days for the work to commence, contingent on the weather. Jon explained that any rainy weather would not be conducive to a good result and he completed the cleaning and sand application on a beautiful rain-free day. The stones looked brand new! The clear coating was applied on the next rain-free day and the results were astounding! The clean and coated pavers make our property appearance renewed. We've already received compliments on how nice the property looks, thanks to a job well done!Posted on Google![]()

Jon and his team were a lifesaver for our patio. We were constantly getting weeds and ant hills through the cracks of our patio. Jons team was efficient and make the process quick for us. Once we booked Jon gave us his cell number and answered every question I had especially since we have a dog so we were nervous. He gave us all the tips and tricks to make it last longer and our pavers look brand new. Couldn’t thank him enough.Posted on Google![]()

John and his crew were professional , neat and clean. They made my pool pavers, steps and walkways look brand new at a very good price point, considering the work went into into a project like mine. They literally saved my pavers, true to their name. John was honest and fair and most importantly truthful. Everything he told me I was in for happened just as he explained it up front. No surprises. No upselling. Stuck to his estimate and was there when he said he would be. Easy to communicate and schedule with. Great job and a stress free experience.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Long Island Paver Savers. Jon was a pleasure to work with and delivered on all aspects of the job. The crew was neat, efficient and very professional. Pavers are such a nice embellishment to a home but if they are soiled and lack their original luster it’s nothing but an eyesore. This was well worth the investment and I am extremely satisfied with the final result. Once again I highly recommend this company and you won’t be disappointed!Posted on Google![]()

Paver Cleaning Services Calverton NY
There’s a specific kind of frustration that comes with watching pavers you paid good money for slowly fall apart joints opening up, weeds pushing through, surfaces turning green or black under tree cover. For Calverton homeowners, that process tends to happen faster than most people expect, and the reasons are tied directly to where you live.
Calverton sits on sandy Pine Barrens soil. Water moves through it quickly, and it doesn’t hold joint sand the way denser soils do in Nassau County or western Suffolk. Standard joint sand washes out after a few heavy rains on this type of ground, and once those joints open up, weeds get in, pavers start shifting, and the damage builds on itself. After we complete a professional cleaning, install polymeric sand, and apply professional sealing, that cycle stops. The joints are locked, the surface is protected, and the pavers hold up the way they were supposed to.
Calverton also sits inland away from the thermal buffering you get in waterfront communities along the Sound or the South Shore. That means your pavers go through the full intensity of Long Island’s freeze-thaw season without any coastal moderation. Sealing creates a moisture barrier that prevents water from working its way into the surface and expanding every time temperatures drop. The result isn’t just a cleaner-looking driveway or patio. It’s a hardscape that actually holds up through the next winter, and the one after that.
Professional Paver Cleaning Calverton NY
We’re a family-owned company based in West Babylon, fully licensed and insured, and serving residential and commercial clients across all of Suffolk County including Calverton and the surrounding Riverhead area. Our team carries nearly 50 years of combined experience in paver cleaning, sealing, and restoration, which is a different level of depth than what most local operators bring to the table.
That experience matters here specifically. Calverton’s mix of larger wooded lots, sandy soil, and inland exposure to freeze-thaw cycles creates a specific set of paver problems that aren’t identical to what you’d find in more densely developed parts of Long Island. We’ve worked through every variation of this from long driveways on larger properties near the Peconic River corridor to shaded patios on heavily wooded lots where organic growth builds up year-round.
Every job is handled by our professionally trained technicians using commercial-grade equipment, and we’re built around clear communication from start to finish. You know what’s being done, why it’s being done, and what to expect when the work is complete.
Paver Restoration Process Calverton NY
The job doesn’t start with a pressure washer. It starts with an honest look at what’s actually going on shifted pavers, washed-out joints, efflorescence buildup, organic staining from tree debris, or some combination of all of the above. In Calverton, wooded lots mean that pollen, pine needles, sap, and leaf debris are working on your paver surfaces throughout the year, not just in fall. That organic layer has to be fully addressed before anything else happens.
Once the assessment is done, we use commercial-grade hot water systems for the cleaning phase not the kind of consumer pressure washer you can rent from a hardware store. Hot water reaches embedded organic growth, oil stains, and biological buildup in a way that cold water can’t. After the surface is clean and completely dry, we remove any existing joint sand and replace it with polymeric sand, which hardens when activated and resists the rapid erosion that Calverton’s fast-draining sandy soil causes with standard sand.
If any pavers have shifted or sunk, we relevevel them before sealing begins. The sealing step comes last, and only after everything else is done correctly. We match the right sealer to your paver material concrete, brick, natural stone, or bluestone and apply it to a fully prepared surface. In Calverton, fall is the second-best window for this work, right behind spring, because sealing before winter gives your pavers the moisture barrier they need going into freeze-thaw season. Spring is typically our busiest time, so if you’re thinking about it, earlier in the season is better than waiting.

Brick Paver Cleaning and Sealing Calverton NY
We handle concrete pavers, brick pavers, and natural stone including bluestone, travertine, marble, limestone, and granite. The approach isn’t the same for every material, and that distinction matters. A sealer that works on concrete pavers can cause problems on natural stone if the chemistry isn’t right. With nearly 50 years of combined experience across the full range of paver types, we know what each surface needs and what to avoid.
For Calverton homeowners specifically, the most common applications are driveway paver cleaning, patio paver cleaning, and walkway cleaning and sealing. Given the larger lot sizes throughout the hamlet particularly on properties along Route 25 and in the residential areas extending toward Wading River driveways here tend to be longer and cover more surface area than in denser suburban markets. That means more joint sand to replace, more square footage to seal, and more surface area that’s been exposed to organic debris from the surrounding tree canopy.
We also serve commercial clients across Suffolk County, which is increasingly relevant as the EPCAL corridor along Route 25 continues to develop. For homeowners who have been putting this off because of the upfront cost, financing options are available something no prominent local competitor currently offers. If your pavers are in rough shape but the foundation underneath is still sound, restoration is almost always the right call before replacement even enters the conversation.
How does Calverton's sandy soil affect how long paver joints last?
Calverton sits on Pine Barrens sandy soil with a glacial geology base, and that substrate drains water much faster than the clay-heavy soils found in Nassau County or western Suffolk. The practical effect on pavers is that standard joint sand erodes quickly sometimes after just a few heavy rainstorms because the water moving through the soil carries it away rather than holding it in place. Once those joints open up, weeds establish themselves, pavers lose their lateral support, and shifting and sinking follow.
The fix that actually holds in Calverton’s environment is polymeric sand. Unlike standard joint sand, polymeric sand contains binding agents that activate when wet and then harden as they dry, locking the joints in place. When we professionally install it as part of a full cleaning and sealing service, polymeric sand can last up to 10 years a dramatically different outcome than standard sand that may need replacing every season in Calverton’s soil conditions. If you’ve tried filling joints yourself and watched the sand disappear after a few rains, that’s exactly why.
My pavers look dark and stained is that moss, algae, or something else?
On Calverton properties with wooded lots, the dark discoloration you’re seeing is almost always a combination of things: algae, moss, mold, and organic debris from tree cover working together over time. Shaded paver surfaces stay damp longer than surfaces in full sun, which creates ideal conditions for biological growth. Pine needles, tree sap, and pollen add to the buildup and accelerate the staining process. The result is pavers that look far older and more deteriorated than they actually are.
The important thing to know is that this kind of staining isn’t permanent, and it doesn’t mean your pavers are beyond saving. Our professional cleaning with commercial-grade hot water equipment removes embedded biological growth that a consumer pressure washer simply can’t reach. Hot water breaks down the organic matter at the surface level and in the joints, not just on top. After cleaning and sealing, the sealed surface resists future biological growth because it’s no longer porous moisture and organic matter can’t penetrate and take hold the same way. For most Calverton homeowners dealing with shaded patios or walkways, the before-and-after difference is significant.
How often should pavers in Calverton be cleaned and resealed?
For most Long Island homeowners, the general recommendation is to clean pavers every one to two years and reseal every two to three years. In Calverton specifically, a few local factors can push that timeline toward the more frequent end of the range. The combination of sandy soil accelerating joint sand erosion, wooded lots depositing organic debris year-round, and inland exposure to the full intensity of Long Island’s freeze-thaw cycle means your pavers are under more consistent stress than pavers in open, sun-exposed suburban neighborhoods or coastal communities with temperature moderation.
A practical way to check whether it’s time is to pour a small amount of water on your paver surface. If it soaks in rather than beading up, the sealer has worn down and the surface is no longer protected. Visible efflorescence the white mineral deposits that appear on paver surfaces is another sign that moisture is moving through the material and the sealer needs attention. If you’re also seeing weed growth in the joints or noticeable fading, those are all indicators that a full cleaning and resealing cycle is overdue.
Can my pavers actually be restored, or do I need to replace them?
This is the question most homeowners ask when their pavers have reached a point where they look genuinely bad faded, cracked, weed-choked, or shifted. The honest answer is that replacement is rarely necessary if the foundation underneath the pavers is still structurally sound. What looks like a paver problem is often a surface and joint problem, and those are solvable without tearing everything out.
Full paver replacement on Long Island typically runs into the range of thousands of dollars and that’s before factoring in the disruption to your yard and landscaping. Our professional cleaning, polymeric sand installation, and sealing costs a fraction of that, and for most properties the results are dramatic. We’ve brought back driveways and patios that homeowners had written off as replacements. The key question is whether the base is intact. If pavers have shifted because the base has failed or washed away, that structural issue needs to be addressed but even then, restoration and releveling is usually far less expensive than starting over. A proper assessment will tell you which situation you’re actually dealing with.
What's the best time of year to schedule paver cleaning in Calverton, NY?
Spring is the peak season for paver cleaning and sealing in Calverton, and for good reason. After winter’s freeze-thaw cycle, the damage is most visible shifted pavers, washed-out joints, cracked surfaces, and biological growth that’s had all winter to establish itself. Scheduling in early spring means you’re addressing the damage before it compounds further and getting your outdoor spaces ready for the warmer months.
Fall is the second-best window, and it’s worth thinking about strategically. Calverton sits inland without the coastal temperature buffering that communities along the Long Island Sound or South Shore benefit from, which means the first hard freeze can arrive earlier and hit harder. Sealing before that happens gives your pavers the moisture protection they need going into the season. Summer is workable but tends to book up quickly because of demand. Winter is generally not suitable for sealing temperature and moisture requirements for proper sealer adhesion and curing aren’t reliably met. If you’re considering this for spring, it’s worth reaching out early in the season rather than waiting until the schedule fills.
Does Paver Savers work on the larger driveways common in Calverton properties?
Yes, and it’s a common scenario in Calverton. Properties throughout the hamlet particularly in the residential areas extending toward Wading River and along the Peconic River corridor tend to have significantly larger lots than you’d find in denser parts of Long Island. Longer driveways and more extensive patio and walkway systems are the norm here, not the exception. That means more surface area to clean, more joint sand to replace, and more sealer to apply correctly.
Our commercial-grade hot water equipment is built for jobs at this scale. Consumer-grade pressure washers struggle to deliver consistent results over large surface areas you end up with uneven cleaning, streaking, or inadequate surface prep that causes the sealer to fail prematurely. For a long paver driveway on a larger Calverton lot, the preparation work alone removing old joint sand, treating efflorescence, addressing any shifted pavers before sealing takes meaningful time and the right equipment to do correctly. Financing is also available for larger jobs, which makes the full process accessible without requiring the entire cost upfront.
