Paver Savers performed a Efflorence Treatment, Surface Cleaning & Pressure Washing, Polymeric Sand Install and Natural Stone Sealer to my front and backyard pavers. I had a couple sections with stubborn efflorence that they were able to remove as shown below. I strongly recommend using them rather than trying to do it yourself, its worth the costs. They have professional equipment and personnel that know what they're doing. The owner Jon and foreman Gino were a pleasure to deal with.

Paver Savers cleaned our pavers and restored the polymeric sand. All the unsightly moss and old sand were removed and replaced with a minimum of mess or cleanup. They came when they promised, and they completed the job quickly. The result is great; we have a beautifully clean and well detailed driveway. I would highly recommend them. John C. Holbrook

Paver Savers came highly recommended and rightfully so. Jon spoke with my wife and I and did not rush us off the phone. He agreed to a time and date convenient for us. He arrived when he said he would and we walked around the house. He made an accurate assessment of what was needed to be done and gave us a very fair quote. He answered all our questions and provided a detailed synopsis of all the work that was to be performed. He suggested sand colors which were totally in line with what matched our pavers and made it easy for our discerning eyes to choose a color. He also gave us the pros and cons of clear versus colored coatings, making it easy to choose. We only had to wait a few days for the work to commence, contingent on the weather. Jon explained that any rainy weather would not be conducive to a good result and he completed the cleaning and sand application on a beautiful rain-free day. The stones looked brand new! The clear coating was applied on the next rain-free day and the results were astounding! The clean and coated pavers make our property appearance renewed. We've already received compliments on how nice the property looks, thanks to a job well done!

Jon and his team were a lifesaver for our patio. We were constantly getting weeds and ant hills through the cracks of our patio. Jons team was efficient and make the process quick for us. Once we booked Jon gave us his cell number and answered every question I had especially since we have a dog so we were nervous. He gave us all the tips and tricks to make it last longer and our pavers look brand new. Couldn’t thank him enough.

John and his crew were professional , neat and clean. They made my pool pavers, steps and walkways look brand new at a very good price point, considering the work went into into a project like mine. They literally saved my pavers, true to their name. John was honest and fair and most importantly truthful. Everything he told me I was in for happened just as he explained it up front. No surprises. No upselling. Stuck to his estimate and was there when he said he would be. Easy to communicate and schedule with. Great job and a stress free experience.

I highly recommend Long Island Paver Savers. Jon was a pleasure to work with and delivered on all aspects of the job. The crew was neat, efficient and very professional. Pavers are such a nice embellishment to a home but if they are soiled and lack their original luster it’s nothing but an eyesore. This was well worth the investment and I am extremely satisfied with the final result. Once again I highly recommend this company and you won’t be disappointed!

Professional Paver Cleaning, Atlantic Beach

Your Pavers Can Look the Way Your Home Deserves

There’s a specific kind of damage that happens to pavers on a barrier island. It’s not just dirt and grime it’s salt crystals working their way into the surface, white mineral deposits forming after every storm, and joint sand that washes out faster than it would anywhere else on Long Island.

By the time most Atlantic Beach homeowners call us, their pavers have been silently deteriorating for years. After a proper cleaning and sealing, the difference is immediate. Colors come back. Stains lift. The white efflorescence that’s been building up since the last nor’easter gets neutralized not just scrubbed over.

Because the surface is properly sealed, the next round of salt air, rain, and coastal humidity doesn’t penetrate the way it did before. For a community where outdoor spaces are genuinely central to daily life the patio before a beach day, the driveway that greets you every time you cross back over the bridge having hardscape that looks clean and well-maintained is part of taking care of a home you’ve invested in.

Paver Cleaning Company, Nassau County

Nearly 50 Years of Experience Serving Atlantic Beach and Beyond

We’re a family-owned company based in West Babylon, NY, serving Nassau and Suffolk counties with paver cleaning, sealing, and restoration. Our team brings nearly 50 years of combined experience to every project and that’s not a number pulled from thin air. It means we’ve seen every type of paver damage Long Island can produce, including the accelerated salt and moisture damage that’s specific to South Shore barrier island communities like Atlantic Beach.

We’re fully licensed and insured, and we work on both residential and commercial properties. When you hire Paver Savers, you’re not getting an anonymous crew. Customers in Atlantic Beach have specifically called out team members Jonathan and Gino by name in their reviews, noting how clearly the process was explained and how meticulous the work was from start to finish.

We know the difference between cleaning pavers in an inland Nassau County neighborhood and cleaning pavers a few blocks from the Atlantic Ocean. That distinction matters more than most people realize.

Paver Restoration Process, Atlantic Beach NY

What Actually Happens From First Visit to Final Seal

Every job starts with a real assessment of what you’re dealing with. In Atlantic Beach, that almost always includes checking for efflorescence those white, chalky deposits caused by salt and mineral migration through the paver surface. If that’s present and it gets sealed over without treatment, it’s locked in permanently. So before anything else, it gets neutralized.

From there, we deep clean the pavers using commercial-grade hot water systems. This isn’t a consumer pressure washer from a hardware store the equipment runs at temperatures and pressures that actually lift oil stains, kill biological growth like algae and mold, and prepare the surface properly for sealing. In a coastal environment with Atlantic Beach’s humidity levels, biological growth on pavers is common and needs more than a cold water rinse to fully clear.

Once the surface is clean and completely dry, we install polymeric sand in the joints. This is a critical step that most DIY attempts skip or do incorrectly. The sand hardens when activated and locks the joints against weed infiltration, ant tunneling, and the kind of wind-blown debris that comes off the ocean. After that, the sealer goes down chosen based on your specific paver material and finish preference.

Spring is the ideal window for this work in Atlantic Beach, right before beach season opens and while temperatures are stable enough for the sealer to cure correctly.

Paver Cleaning Services, Long Island South Shore

Built for What Coastal Pavers Actually Go Through

We handle the full range of paver types found in Atlantic Beach homes concrete pavers, brick pavers, and natural stone including bluestone, travertine, and limestone. Each material responds differently to salt exposure and coastal moisture, and the cleaning approach and sealer selection are adjusted accordingly. There are no one-size-fits-all shortcuts here.

Our services include paver cleaning, paver sealing, paver restoration, paver repair and releveling, polymeric sand installation, and efflorescence treatment. For homeowners in Atlantic Beach whose pavers were installed after Sandy many of which are now entering that 7 to 12 year range where original sealant has broken down and joint sand has eroded restoration is often the right call before the damage reaches a point where replacement becomes the conversation.

Full paver replacement on Long Island can run well into the thousands. Restoration, when the foundation is still sound, is a fraction of that cost. We also work with commercial properties, so if you manage a property near the Silver Point Beach Club corridor or anywhere along the barrier island, the same process and standards apply. Financing is available for larger projects, which is worth knowing if the scope of work is more than a basic cleaning and seal.

How often should I have my pavers cleaned and sealed in Atlantic Beach?

For most Long Island homes, the general recommendation is to clean pavers every one to two years and reseal every two to three years. In Atlantic Beach, that timeline can compress. You’re on a barrier island with daily salt air exposure, ocean-driven humidity, and wind-blown debris working on your pavers year-round. Sealant that might hold up for three years in an inland Nassau County neighborhood may show signs of breakdown sooner here because the environmental stress is simply more constant and intense.

A good indicator that it’s time is whether water still beads on the surface. If it soaks in instead, the sealer has degraded and your pavers are absorbing moisture which means they’re also absorbing salt, and the freeze-thaw damage cycle has already started. If you’re also seeing white deposits forming on the surface or weeds pushing through the joints, those are signs the job is overdue.

That’s efflorescence mineral salts that migrate through the paver from below and crystallize on the surface when moisture evaporates. It’s extremely common in Atlantic Beach because the combination of coastal moisture, salt air, and the porous nature of concrete and brick pavers creates near-ideal conditions for it to form. After a storm or a wet winter, it can appear quickly and across a large area.

Efflorescence can’t just be pressure washed away. It needs to be chemically neutralized with the right treatment before cleaning, or it will keep reappearing. More critically, if it’s sealed over without being treated first, you’ve locked it in permanently and the only fix at that point is stripping the sealer entirely. We treat efflorescence as a dedicated step in the process, not an afterthought, which is why customers who’ve had the work done here specifically mention it in their reviews.

Not necessarily, and in most cases the answer is no. The condition that usually triggers the replacement conversation staining, discoloration, weed growth, faded color, surface cracking is almost always restorable if the foundation underneath is still structurally sound. We specifically address this because it’s one of the most common misconceptions homeowners bring to the first conversation.

In Atlantic Beach, a lot of homes had hardscaping replaced or newly installed after Hurricane Sandy. Those pavers are now old enough that they look rough salt damage, faded color, failed joint sand but the base layer is often still solid. That’s the ideal candidate for restoration. You’re looking at cleaning, efflorescence treatment, releveling any shifted pavers, new polymeric sand, and a fresh seal. The result looks like new installation at a fraction of the replacement cost.

It depends entirely on the equipment and the technique. Consumer-grade pressure washers the kind you rent or buy at a hardware store can absolutely damage pavers. They can etch the surface, create uneven streaking, and strip the top layer of concrete pavers if the pressure is too high or the nozzle is held too close. That kind of damage is permanent and actually accelerates deterioration going forward.

Professional paver cleaning uses commercial-grade hot water systems with rotary surface cleaners that distribute pressure evenly and use heat to break down stains, biological growth, and oil that cold water simply can’t lift. The heat matters especially in Atlantic Beach, where algae and mold growth on shaded or north-facing paver surfaces is common due to the coastal humidity. The right equipment cleans thoroughly without damaging the surface and it prepares the paver correctly for sealing, which a consumer pressure washer typically doesn’t do even when it looks clean.

Yes, and in an oceanfront environment like Atlantic Beach, it’s one of the most practical things you can do for your hardscape. A quality sealer creates a barrier on the paver surface that blocks moisture penetration which means salt-laden water from rain, ocean spray, and coastal air has a much harder time getting into the paver and starting the damage cycle. It also inhibits the biological growth that thrives in humid coastal conditions and locks polymeric sand in place so joints don’t erode with every storm.

The difference in lifespan between sealed and unsealed pavers is significant. Unsealed pavers in standard Long Island conditions typically need replacement within seven to ten years. In Atlantic Beach’s more aggressive coastal environment, that timeline is even shorter without protection. Properly maintained sealed pavers can last twenty-five years or more. The math on sealing every two to three years versus replacing your entire paver driveway or patio is straightforward and for homes in Atlantic Beach where property values average well above a million dollars, maintaining the hardscape is just good stewardship of the investment.

Spring is the optimal window typically April through May for a few reasons specific to Atlantic Beach. It comes right after the winter season when freeze-thaw cycles, salt from storms, and nor’easter debris have done their damage, so you’re cleaning at the moment when the need is greatest. It’s also before beach season opens and before the summer heat sets in, which matters because sealer needs to be applied in stable temperature conditions to cure correctly.

There’s also a practical lifestyle reason for Atlantic Beach homeowners specifically: your outdoor spaces are about to become the center of your daily routine from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Getting the cleaning and sealing done in April or May means your patio, driveway, and walkways are in their best condition for the entire season. Fall is a solid secondary window sealing before the first frost gives your pavers a protective layer going into winter, which is especially valuable on a barrier island where storms can be severe.
