Paver Savers performed a Efflorence Treatment, Surface Cleaning & Pressure Washing, Polymeric Sand Install and Natural Stone Sealer to my front and backyard pavers. I had a couple sections with stubborn efflorence that they were able to remove as shown below. I strongly recommend using them rather than trying to do it yourself, its worth the costs. They have professional equipment and personnel that know what they're doing. The owner Jon and foreman Gino were a pleasure to deal with.Posted on Google![]()

Paver Savers cleaned our pavers and restored the polymeric sand. All the unsightly moss and old sand were removed and replaced with a minimum of mess or cleanup. They came when they promised, and they completed the job quickly. The result is great; we have a beautifully clean and well detailed driveway. I would highly recommend them. John C. Paver Savers came highly recommended and rightfully so. Jon spoke with my wife and I and did not rush us off the phone. He agreed to a time and date convenient for us. He arrived when he said he would and we walked around the house. He made an accurate assessment of what was needed to be done and gave us a very fair quote. He answered all our questions and provided a detailed synopsis of all the work that was to be performed. He suggested sand colors which were totally in line with what matched our pavers and made it easy for our discerning eyes to choose a color. He also gave us the pros and cons of clear versus colored coatings, making it easy to choose. We only had to wait a few days for the work to commence, contingent on the weather. Jon explained that any rainy weather would not be conducive to a good result and he completed the cleaning and sand application on a beautiful rain-free day. The stones looked brand new! The clear coating was applied on the next rain-free day and the results were astounding! The clean and coated pavers make our property appearance renewed. We've already received compliments on how nice the property looks, thanks to a job well done!Posted on Google![]()

Jon and his team were a lifesaver for our patio. We were constantly getting weeds and ant hills through the cracks of our patio. Jons team was efficient and make the process quick for us. Once we booked Jon gave us his cell number and answered every question I had especially since we have a dog so we were nervous. He gave us all the tips and tricks to make it last longer and our pavers look brand new. Couldn’t thank him enough.Posted on Google![]()

John and his crew were professional , neat and clean. They made my pool pavers, steps and walkways look brand new at a very good price point, considering the work went into into a project like mine. They literally saved my pavers, true to their name. John was honest and fair and most importantly truthful. Everything he told me I was in for happened just as he explained it up front. No surprises. No upselling. Stuck to his estimate and was there when he said he would be. Easy to communicate and schedule with. Great job and a stress free experience.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Long Island Paver Savers. Jon was a pleasure to work with and delivered on all aspects of the job. The crew was neat, efficient and very professional. Pavers are such a nice embellishment to a home but if they are soiled and lack their original luster it’s nothing but an eyesore. This was well worth the investment and I am extremely satisfied with the final result. Once again I highly recommend this company and you won’t be disappointed!Posted on Google![]()

Paver Restoration Services Nassau County
When paver cleaning is done properly, the difference is immediate. Stains that have been sitting in your brick or concrete for years lift out. The green algae creeping across your front walk the kind fed by Bellerose Terrace’s mature tree canopy and Nassau County humidity gets removed at the root level, not just rinsed off the surface. You’re not left with a surface that looks clean for two weeks and then goes right back to where it started.
For homes in Bellerose Terrace, where most of the housing stock dates back to the 1930s and earlier, this matters more than it does in newer developments. Old brick and Belgian block are porous. They absorb everything road salt from the Cross Island Parkway, organic debris from overhead trees, decades of moisture cycling through unsealed joints.
Once those surfaces are properly cleaned and sealed, they stop absorbing and start repelling. That changes how long the results last. The practical outcome is a hardscape that looks the way your property should look in a neighborhood where people notice. It also means you’re not calling us back in six months because the algae returned or the weeds pushed through again. When the job is done right the first time, it holds.
Paver Cleaning Company Nassau County NY
We’re a family-owned, fully licensed and insured paver cleaning and restoration company based on Long Island. Our team brings nearly 50 years of combined experience to every job and that experience matters when you’re working with the kind of aging hardscapes common throughout Bellerose Terrace and western Nassau County.
Bellerose Terrace homes aren’t new construction. They’re pre-war properties with driveways, stoops, and walkways that have been through decades of Nassau County winters, freeze-thaw cycles, and road salt exposure from the Cross Island Parkway. Knowing how old brick behaves differently from modern concrete, or how Belgian block joints need to be approached when they’ve been unsealed for years that’s not something you develop overnight.
We serve both residential and commercial clients across Nassau and Suffolk counties. Every project is completed on time, with clear communication throughout, and by a team that takes the work seriously enough to have our technicians named by customers in reviews. That kind of accountability doesn’t happen by accident.
Professional Paver Cleaning Process Long Island
The process starts with a real assessment of what you’re working with. Not every paver surface needs the same approach, and in Bellerose Terrace where a home built in 1928 might have original brick pavers that have never been professionally treated rushing into cleaning without understanding the material first is how damage happens. The condition of the joints, the type of paver, and the extent of any efflorescence or organic buildup all factor into how we do the job.
From there, the cleaning phase uses commercial-grade hot water systems. This isn’t a consumer pressure washer from a hardware store. Hot water at professional volume removes oil staining, deep-set algae, mildew, and organic debris in a way that cold water simply can’t. For surfaces under Bellerose Terrace’s tree canopy where shade and moisture create persistent organic growth this step makes a real difference in how clean the surface actually gets.
Once the surface is clean and fully dry, we address joint sand. In most cases, we install polymeric sand to replace whatever has washed out or been displaced. Polymeric sand hardens when activated, locks the joints, and resists weed infiltration for years. The final step is sealing applied only after the surface is completely dry to prevent moisture from being trapped underneath.
Spring is the natural window for this work in Nassau County, after winter’s freeze-thaw cycle has done its damage and before summer humidity sets in. Fall is the secondary window, sealing before the next winter hits.

Brick Paver Cleaning and Sealing Bellerose Terrace
We handle concrete pavers, brick pavers, and natural stone including bluestone, travertine, marble, limestone, and granite. That range matters in Bellerose Terrace, where the pre-war housing stock means you’re as likely to find original brick or Belgian block as you are modern concrete. Each material has its own porosity, its own reaction to sealers, and its own cleaning requirements. The wrong approach on old brick can etch the surface or trap efflorescence permanently. Getting the material right before anything else is non-negotiable.
Our services include paver cleaning, paver sealing, paver restoration, paver repair, polymeric sand installation, and efflorescence treatment. These aren’t separate products you have to choose between the process is built around what your specific surface actually needs. If your pavers have shifted or sunk, we address that before sealing. If there’s efflorescence from years of moisture cycling through unsealed joints common in Bellerose Terrace’s older homes we treat and neutralize it before anything goes over the top.
We’re fully licensed and insured in compliance with New York’s construction regulations, which is worth confirming with any contractor you hire in this area. We also offer financing options, which makes it easier to handle a full restoration driveway, walkway, and patio rather than doing one piece at a time and leaving the rest exposed. We serve both residential and commercial clients across Nassau County.
Can old brick pavers in Bellerose Terrace actually be restored, or do they need replacing?
In most cases, yes restoration is possible and significantly more cost-effective than replacement. The key factor is the foundation. If the base is still structurally sound and the pavers themselves aren’t crumbling, professional cleaning, efflorescence treatment, polymeric sand installation, and sealing can bring surfaces back to a condition that looks dramatically better than what you’re starting with.
Full paver replacement on Long Island runs $8,000 to $12,000 or more. Restoration is a fraction of that. For Bellerose Terrace specifically, where a large share of homes were built before 1940, the instinct when pavers look bad is often to assume they’re beyond saving. That’s rarely true. Old brick is durable it just needs the right treatment. Decades of unsealed exposure to Nassau County winters, road salt from the Cross Island Parkway, and organic buildup from mature trees doesn’t mean the material is gone. It means it needs professional attention, not a demolition crew.
How often should I have my pavers cleaned and sealed in Nassau County?
For most paver surfaces in Nassau County, cleaning every one to two years and sealing every two to three years is the right maintenance cadence. Nassau County’s climate freeze-thaw cycles in winter, high humidity in summer, and significant organic debris from tree cover accelerates the breakdown of both the paver surface and the joint sand faster than in milder climates. Waiting longer than three years between sealings typically means the sealer has degraded to the point where moisture is already penetrating the surface.
In Bellerose Terrace specifically, the combination of mature tree canopy and proximity to the Cross Island Parkway means organic buildup and road salt exposure are both ongoing stressors. Surfaces in heavier shade tend to accumulate algae and mildew faster than sun-exposed ones. If you can see visible discoloration, feel the surface is no longer repelling water, or notice weed growth coming back between joints, those are signs you’re already past due not just approaching the maintenance window.
What is efflorescence and why does it keep showing up on my pavers?
Efflorescence is the white, chalky mineral deposit that appears on the surface of concrete, brick, or stone pavers when water moves through the material and carries soluble salts to the surface, where they crystallize as the water evaporates. It’s not a sign that something went wrong with the installation it’s a natural process that happens to virtually all cementitious materials when they’re exposed to moisture over time.
In Bellerose Terrace, where many homes have unsealed or inadequately sealed pavers that have been exposed to Nassau County’s wet springs and freeze-thaw winters for decades, efflorescence is extremely common. The problem with sealing over it without treating it first is that you lock the deposits in permanently they become visible through the sealer and can’t be removed without stripping the sealer entirely. The right approach is to treat and neutralize the efflorescence before any sealer goes on. That’s a standard part of how we approach jobs where it’s present, which is why the results hold up rather than showing white patches through the finish within a season.
What's the difference between regular joint sand and polymeric sand, and do I need it?
Regular joint sand the kind most pavers are installed with washes out. A few heavy rainstorms and it’s gone, leaving open joints that weeds root into and ants tunnel through. Once the joints are open, moisture gets in more easily, the structural stability of the paver surface decreases, and the whole surface starts to shift and settle unevenly over time. It’s a slow process, but it compounds.
Polymeric sand is different because it contains binding agents that activate with water and harden the sand into a firm, stable joint. When professionally applied, it resists erosion, blocks weed infiltration, and can last up to ten years before needing replacement. For Bellerose Terrace homeowners dealing with heavy spring rains and the drainage pressure that comes with the community’s position in the Hook Creek Watershed, this isn’t a luxury upgrade it’s the practical choice for keeping joints intact between maintenance cycles. If your current pavers have visible open joints or weed growth pushing through, polymeric sand installation as part of a cleaning and sealing job addresses the root cause rather than just the surface symptom.
Is it worth sealing pavers before winter in Bellerose Terrace?
Yes, and the timing matters. Sealing before winter is one of the most protective things you can do for a paver surface in Nassau County. The mechanism is straightforward: unsealed pavers absorb water. When that water freezes, it expands inside the paver material and the joints, creating micro-fractures that widen with each freeze-thaw cycle. Over multiple winters, this is what causes pavers to crack, shift, and break down structurally not just look bad, but actually fail.
For homes near the Cross Island Parkway in Bellerose Terrace, there’s an added factor: road salt. NYSDOT salting operations on the parkway during winter generate salt spray and salt-laden runoff that reaches nearby residential properties. Salt accelerates freeze-thaw damage, triggers efflorescence, and degrades joint sand. A properly applied professional sealer creates a barrier against both moisture infiltration and salt penetration that consumer-grade sealers simply don’t match. Fall after the leaves are down and before temperatures drop consistently below 40 degrees is the window. If that window closes, spring is the next opportunity, and you’d want to address any winter damage before sealing at that point.
How do I know if the paver company I'm hiring in Bellerose Terrace is actually licensed and insured?
Ask for documentation before any work begins a reputable contractor will have it ready and won’t hesitate to provide it. In New York, contractors performing work on residential properties are subject to licensing requirements, and general liability insurance is a baseline expectation. The reason this matters specifically for paver cleaning and sealing is that the barrier to entry in this industry is low. Anyone with a pressure washer and a bucket of sealer can advertise the service. The consequences of hiring someone who applies the wrong sealer, traps moisture under the finish, or damages old brick with improper equipment fall entirely on you and without insurance, there’s no recourse.
Bellerose Terrace sits at the Nassau-Queens county line, which means homeowners here are often approached by contractors operating on both sides of that border, not all of whom carry the same credentials. We’re fully licensed and insured in compliance with New York’s construction regulations that’s confirmed documentation, not just a line on a website. For a home with an 80-year-old hardscape and a market value approaching or exceeding $700,000, verifying that credential before anyone starts work is a straightforward step worth taking.
