Paver Savers performed a Efflorence Treatment, Surface Cleaning & Pressure Washing, Polymeric Sand Install and Natural Stone Sealer to my front and backyard pavers. I had a couple sections with stubborn efflorence that they were able to remove as shown below. I strongly recommend using them rather than trying to do it yourself, its worth the costs. They have professional equipment and personnel that know what they're doing. The owner Jon and foreman Gino were a pleasure to deal with.Posted on Google![]()

Paver Savers cleaned our pavers and restored the polymeric sand. All the unsightly moss and old sand were removed and replaced with a minimum of mess or cleanup. They came when they promised, and they completed the job quickly. The result is great; we have a beautifully clean and well detailed driveway. I would highly recommend them. John C. Paver Savers came highly recommended and rightfully so. Jon spoke with my wife and I and did not rush us off the phone. He agreed to a time and date convenient for us. He arrived when he said he would and we walked around the house. He made an accurate assessment of what was needed to be done and gave us a very fair quote. He answered all our questions and provided a detailed synopsis of all the work that was to be performed. He suggested sand colors which were totally in line with what matched our pavers and made it easy for our discerning eyes to choose a color. He also gave us the pros and cons of clear versus colored coatings, making it easy to choose. We only had to wait a few days for the work to commence, contingent on the weather. Jon explained that any rainy weather would not be conducive to a good result and he completed the cleaning and sand application on a beautiful rain-free day. The stones looked brand new! The clear coating was applied on the next rain-free day and the results were astounding! The clean and coated pavers make our property appearance renewed. We've already received compliments on how nice the property looks, thanks to a job well done!Posted on Google![]()

Jon and his team were a lifesaver for our patio. We were constantly getting weeds and ant hills through the cracks of our patio. Jons team was efficient and make the process quick for us. Once we booked Jon gave us his cell number and answered every question I had especially since we have a dog so we were nervous. He gave us all the tips and tricks to make it last longer and our pavers look brand new. Couldn’t thank him enough.Posted on Google![]()

John and his crew were professional , neat and clean. They made my pool pavers, steps and walkways look brand new at a very good price point, considering the work went into into a project like mine. They literally saved my pavers, true to their name. John was honest and fair and most importantly truthful. Everything he told me I was in for happened just as he explained it up front. No surprises. No upselling. Stuck to his estimate and was there when he said he would be. Easy to communicate and schedule with. Great job and a stress free experience.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Long Island Paver Savers. Jon was a pleasure to work with and delivered on all aspects of the job. The crew was neat, efficient and very professional. Pavers are such a nice embellishment to a home but if they are soiled and lack their original luster it’s nothing but an eyesore. This was well worth the investment and I am extremely satisfied with the final result. Once again I highly recommend this company and you won’t be disappointed!Posted on Google![]()

Professional Paver Cleaning, Bay Shore
The most common thing we hear after a job is some version of “I can’t believe that’s the same driveway.” Staining, fading, weed growth, and that chalky white buildup it all comes off. What’s underneath is usually in far better shape than people expected, and that’s exactly the point. Cleaning and sealing done right doesn’t just improve how things look. It stops the damage cycle that’s already in progress.
For Bay Shore homeowners specifically, that damage cycle runs faster than it does inland. The salt air coming off the Great South Bay draws moisture into paver surfaces year-round, which accelerates efflorescence those white mineral deposits and softens the surface faster than standard Long Island freeze-thaw conditions alone. Homes along Maple Avenue, Clinton Avenue, and the waterfront blocks south of Main Street are especially exposed. Sealing creates a barrier that coastal air can’t penetrate.
There’s also the practical side. Pavers that are cleaned and sealed every two to three years routinely last 20 to 25 years or more. Skip that maintenance in a coastal environment like Bay Shore, and you’re looking at structural deterioration in seven to ten years at which point you’re not talking about a cleaning job anymore. You’re talking about full replacement, and that’s a much bigger conversation.

Bay Shore Paver Cleaning Experts
Paver Savers is a family-owned company based in West Babylon right down the road on the same South Shore corridor as Bay Shore. We bring nearly 50 years of combined experience to every project, which means we’ve seen every variation of paver damage this climate produces: salt-air deterioration, freeze-thaw cracking, efflorescence buildup, washed-out joints, and the specific challenges that come with proximity to the Great South Bay.
We’re fully licensed and insured, compliant with New York’s construction regulations something worth verifying with any contractor before work starts on your property. In a market where the barrier to entry is low and unlicensed operators are common, that distinction matters.
We serve both residential and commercial clients across Suffolk County, including the Town of Islip. Whether it’s a paver driveway on a mid-century colonial near the South Shore Mall or a waterfront patio in Brightwaters, our approach is the same: assess honestly, clean thoroughly, and seal correctly.
Paver Restoration Process, Bay Shore, NY
The process starts with an honest assessment. Before anything gets cleaned or sealed, the condition of your pavers and the foundation underneath gets evaluated. If there are shifted or sunken sections, those get addressed first leveling and re-laying pavers where needed because sealing over a structural problem just locks it in.
Once the surface is stable, the cleaning begins using commercial-grade hot water systems, not the consumer pressure washers you’d rent from a hardware store. The heat matters. Bay Shore pavers accumulate a specific combination of salt deposits, algae, mold, and oil staining that cold water rinses off the surface without actually removing. Hot water penetrates and lifts it. Any efflorescence gets treated and neutralized at this stage if you seal over it without treating it first, it’s permanently locked in.
After cleaning, joint sand gets replaced with polymeric sand, which hardens when activated and stays put. Regular sand washes out after a few heavy rains. Polymeric sand locks the joints, stops weed infiltration, and resists the ant tunneling that undermines paver stability. The timing of this work matters in Bay Shore spring is the natural window after the last freeze-thaw cycle clears, and before the summer schedule fills up. Once the surface is fully dry, the sealer goes on. The right sealer for your specific paver material and finish, applied correctly, is what makes the results last.
Paver Cleaning Services, Suffolk County, NY
We handle concrete pavers, brick pavers, and natural stone including bluestone, travertine, marble, limestone, and granite. Our service covers driveways, patios, walkways, pool decks, and commercial hardscapes. Each material responds differently to cleaning products and sealers, and using the wrong combination causes real damage: white haze, peeling, slippery surfaces, or sealer that fails in the first winter. We select products based on what’s actually in front of us, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
For Bay Shore properties, a few things come up consistently. Homes near the Great South Bay tend to show heavier efflorescence and salt-deposit buildup than properties further inland. Older homes in Penataquit Point and the surrounding historic areas often have paver installations that haven’t been professionally serviced in years sometimes decades. These aren’t lost causes. If the foundation is stable, restoration is almost always the right call over replacement. Full paver replacement on Long Island runs into the high thousands. A professional cleaning and sealing job is a fraction of that, and it extends the life of what’s already there significantly.
We also offer financing options, which makes it possible to move forward with the work your pavers need right now instead of waiting. If the scope of work is larger than expected a full driveway restoration, polymeric sand throughout, sealing financing means you don’t have to delay. Delaying in a coastal environment like Bay Shore compounds the problem every season you wait.
How does Bay Shore's location near the Great South Bay affect my pavers?
It accelerates the damage cycle in a few specific ways. Salt air from the Great South Bay draws moisture into paver surfaces year-round, which speeds up efflorescence the white mineral deposits you see forming on concrete and natural stone. It also softens the surface chemistry of unsealed pavers faster than you’d see in an inland community. When that moisture-loaded surface then goes through freeze-thaw cycles in winter, the expansion and contraction stress is amplified compared to what a property in Deer Park or Farmingdale would experience.
The practical result is that Bay Shore pavers on streets with direct bay exposure particularly south of Main Street toward the waterfront deteriorate faster than the general Long Island averages suggest. Sealing creates a moisture barrier that interrupts that cycle. It’s not a permanent fix that lasts forever, but resealing every two to three years keeps the damage from compounding. Homeowners who skip that maintenance in a coastal environment tend to reach the replacement conversation much sooner than they expected.
Can old or badly stained pavers actually be restored, or do they need to be replaced?
Most of the time, restoration is the right call and homeowners are often surprised by how significant the difference is. Pavers that look completely gone stained, faded, covered in algae, with weeds pushing through every joint frequently have a structurally sound foundation underneath. What looks like a failed paver installation is usually a surface that hasn’t been professionally cleaned in years.
The honest answer is that replacement makes sense when the foundation itself has failed: when pavers are shifting because the base has eroded, when there’s widespread cracking from root damage or ground movement, or when the material itself is past the point of restoration. But that’s a smaller percentage of cases than most homeowners assume. If the foundation is stable, professional cleaning, polymeric sand installation, and sealing can bring pavers back to a condition that genuinely surprises people. Full paver replacement on Long Island is a significant expense. Restoration is a fraction of that cost, and for Bay Shore’s older housing stock including the historic homes in areas like Penataquit Point it’s almost always the smarter financial decision.
How often should pavers in Bay Shore be cleaned and sealed?
For most Long Island properties, the standard recommendation is cleaning every one to two years and resealing every two to three years. For Bay Shore specifically, the coastal exposure from the Great South Bay pushes that toward the more frequent end of that range, particularly for properties on the south side of Sunrise Highway toward the waterfront. Salt air and bay humidity are active forces on your pavers year-round, not just in winter.
A simple test tells you whether it’s time to reseal: pour a small amount of water on the surface. If it beads up, the sealer is still doing its job. If it soaks in, the sealer has broken down and the surface is unprotected. Other signs include visible fading, efflorescence returning, weeds pushing back through the joints, or joint sand that’s washing away after rain. Any one of those is a clear signal. Waiting longer doesn’t save money it typically means more preparation work and a harder cleaning job when you do eventually schedule the service.
What is polymeric sand and why does it matter for my paver joints?
Polymeric sand is a jointing material that contains binding agents. When it’s activated with water, those agents harden and lock the sand in place between your paver joints. Standard joint sand the kind most driveways and patios are originally installed with washes out after a few heavy rains. Once the joints are empty, weeds take root, ants tunnel through, and the structural integrity of the paver installation starts to break down.
For Bay Shore homeowners, this matters more than it might in a drier climate. The South Shore gets meaningful spring rainfall, and the humidity from the Great South Bay keeps the ground moist even between storms. Standard sand doesn’t survive that environment for long. Professionally applied polymeric sand can last up to ten years. It won’t stop every weed seed that lands on the surface, but it eliminates the joint gaps that allow weed roots to establish and the tunneling that causes pavers to shift. If you’ve been pulling weeds out of your joints every spring and watching them come back by June, the sand is the problem not your effort.
Is spring really the best time to schedule paver cleaning and sealing in Bay Shore?
Spring is the primary window, and for Bay Shore homeowners it closes faster than you might expect. Once the last freeze-thaw cycle of winter has passed typically by late March or April on the South Shore the ground has stabilized and the pavers are ready for cleaning and sealing. Waiting until summer means competing for scheduling with everyone else who had the same idea, and peak season backlogs are real.
There’s also a Bay Shore-specific reason to move early in the season. The Fire Island ferry terminal at the end of Maple Avenue brings significant traffic through Bay Shore starting Memorial Day weekend. Homeowners who want their driveways and outdoor spaces in good shape before summer gets underway need to schedule in April or May at the latest. Fall is a legitimate secondary window sealing before winter protects against salt, ice melt, and freeze-thaw damage but spring gives you the full summer to enjoy the results.
How do I know if the paver cleaning company I'm hiring is actually legitimate?
The first thing to verify is insurance. Ask for proof of general liability insurance before any contractor starts work on your property. In New York, paver cleaning and sealing doesn’t carry the same licensing requirements as larger construction projects, which means unlicensed operators are common in this market. If something goes wrong a damaged surface, a slip-and-fall, an improperly applied sealer that ruins your pavers you need to know you’re covered. A legitimate company will provide proof of insurance without hesitation.
Beyond insurance, look at how specific their process description is. A company that explains the full sequence assessment, cleaning, efflorescence treatment, polymeric sand, leveling, sealing and can tell you why each step matters is demonstrating real knowledge. A company that says “we clean and seal” without further detail may be skipping steps that matter. Check whether reviews mention named technicians, specific outcomes, and repeat business. Those details signal accountability. We’re fully licensed and insured, compliant with New York’s construction regulations, and our process is the same on every job not improvised based on whoever shows up.
