Commack Pavers Don't Have to Be Replaced They Have to Be Restored
Most Commack homeowners assume worn-out pavers mean starting over. In most cases, professional paver cleaning and restoration is all it takes and it costs a fraction of what replacement does.

Paver Savers performed a Efflorence Treatment, Surface Cleaning & Pressure Washing, Polymeric Sand Install and Natural Stone Sealer to my front and backyard pavers. I had a couple sections with stubborn efflorence that they were able to remove as shown below. I strongly recommend using them rather than trying to do it yourself, its worth the costs. They have professional equipment and personnel that know what they're doing. The owner Jon and foreman Gino were a pleasure to deal with.

Paver Savers cleaned our pavers and restored the polymeric sand. All the unsightly moss and old sand were removed and replaced with a minimum of mess or cleanup. They came when they promised, and they completed the job quickly. The result is great; we have a beautifully clean and well detailed driveway. I would highly recommend them. John C. Holbrook

Paver Savers came highly recommended and rightfully so. Jon spoke with my wife and I and did not rush us off the phone. He agreed to a time and date convenient for us. He arrived when he said he would and we walked around the house. He made an accurate assessment of what was needed to be done and gave us a very fair quote. He answered all our questions and provided a detailed synopsis of all the work that was to be performed. He suggested sand colors which were totally in line with what matched our pavers and made it easy for our discerning eyes to choose a color. He also gave us the pros and cons of clear versus colored coatings, making it easy to choose. We only had to wait a few days for the work to commence, contingent on the weather. Jon explained that any rainy weather would not be conducive to a good result and he completed the cleaning and sand application on a beautiful rain-free day. The stones looked brand new! The clear coating was applied on the next rain-free day and the results were astounding! The clean and coated pavers make our property appearance renewed. We've already received compliments on how nice the property looks, thanks to a job well done!

Jon and his team were a lifesaver for our patio. We were constantly getting weeds and ant hills through the cracks of our patio. Jons team was efficient and make the process quick for us. Once we booked Jon gave us his cell number and answered every question I had especially since we have a dog so we were nervous. He gave us all the tips and tricks to make it last longer and our pavers look brand new. Couldn’t thank him enough.

John and his crew were professional , neat and clean. They made my pool pavers, steps and walkways look brand new at a very good price point, considering the work went into into a project like mine. They literally saved my pavers, true to their name. John was honest and fair and most importantly truthful. Everything he told me I was in for happened just as he explained it up front. No surprises. No upselling. Stuck to his estimate and was there when he said he would be. Easy to communicate and schedule with. Great job and a stress free experience.

I highly recommend Long Island Paver Savers. Jon was a pleasure to work with and delivered on all aspects of the job. The crew was neat, efficient and very professional. Pavers are such a nice embellishment to a home but if they are soiled and lack their original luster it’s nothing but an eyesore. This was well worth the investment and I am extremely satisfied with the final result. Once again I highly recommend this company and you won’t be disappointed!

Paver Restoration Services Commack, NY

What Happens When Commack Pavers Are Cleaned and Sealed the Right Way

There’s a moment after a professional cleaning when you walk outside and the surface looks the way it did the day it was installed. Colors come back. The joints are tight and clean. The weeds are gone.

For Commack homeowners specifically, that result carries real weight. With median home values around $700,000, the exterior of your property is the first impression anyone gets when they pull into your driveway. Stained, faded, or overgrown pavers stand out in a neighborhood where most homes are well-maintained.

There’s also a practical reason this matters in Commack. Sitting inland means your pavers go through roughly 25 to 35 freeze-thaw cycles every winter. Each time temperatures cross that freezing threshold, moisture trapped in the joints and pores of your pavers expands. Over time, that process cracks joints, loosens the surface, and accelerates deterioration that makes homeowners think replacement is the only answer.

Sealing your pavers after a thorough cleaning stops that cycle before it compounds further. Sealed pavers in Commack can last 20 years or more. Unsealed ones typically need replacement in 7 to 10.

Professional Paver Cleaning Company Commack, NY

Nearly 50 Years of Experience Serving Commack and Western Suffolk County

Paver Savers is a family-owned company based in West Babylon, right at the southern end of the Sagtikos State Parkway. That location puts Commack at the top of our service area, not the edge of it. We’ve been cleaning, sealing, and restoring pavers across Nassau and Suffolk counties for years, and our team brings nearly 50 years of combined experience to every single project.

That experience isn’t a marketing number. It means the team working on your Commack driveway or patio has seen every paver type, every condition, and every mistake a previous contractor could have made and knows how to handle it. We’re fully licensed and insured, compliant with New York’s construction regulations, and we work on both residential and commercial properties throughout western Suffolk County.

Commack’s housing stock tells a familiar story to us. Homes built in the 1950s and 1960s with paver driveways and patios added in the decades since some of them 30 years old or more are exactly the kind of projects we handle every week. A 31-year-old Nicolock paver driveway in Commack was recently restored to like-new condition rather than torn out and replaced. That’s the outcome we aim for every time.

Paver Cleaning Process Commack, Suffolk County

No Guesswork Here's Exactly What We Do

Before anything starts, we assess the condition of your pavers. We’re looking at the surface, the joints, any shifting or sinking, signs of efflorescence those white mineral deposits that show up on concrete and brick and whether the existing sealer has failed. That assessment shapes everything that follows, because not every surface needs the same approach.

The cleaning itself is done with commercial-grade hot water systems, not the kind of consumer pressure washer you’d rent from a hardware store. Consumer equipment can etch paver surfaces, leave streaks, and miss the oil stains, algae, and mold that only heat and professional-grade cleaning products can fully remove.

Once the surface is clean and completely dry, we address the joints. For most Commack properties, that means removing deteriorated sand and installing polymeric sand a product that hardens when activated, locks the joints, resists weed infiltration, and holds up for up to 10 years. Regular sand washes out after a few heavy rains. Polymeric sand doesn’t.

Sealing comes last, and only after everything else is done correctly. We use high-quality sealers from reputable manufacturers in a range of finishes depending on your preference and your paver material. The sealer creates a barrier against moisture which is especially important heading into a Commack winter and locks in the color and structure of the surface.

Spring is the natural window to get this done on Long Island, after the winter freeze-thaw damage has revealed itself and before outdoor entertaining season begins. Fall is a strong secondary window if you want to protect your pavers before the next freeze cycle hits.

Brick and Driveway Paver Cleaning Commack, NY

Every Surface, Every Material, Done the Right Way

We work on concrete pavers, brick pavers, and natural stone including bluestone, travertine, marble, limestone, and granite. Whether it’s a driveway off Jericho Turnpike, a backyard patio near Hoyt Farm, or a pool deck that’s been through a few too many Long Island summers, the approach is tailored to the material and the condition of the surface.

Driveways in Commack take a specific kind of beating. Daily vehicle traffic combined with 25 to 35 freeze-thaw cycles per winter, sandy Long Island soil that shifts and settles under load, and de-icing salt that accelerates surface spalling it adds up faster than most homeowners realize. The same goes for patios and walkways that sit in shaded areas where moisture lingers and algae takes hold.

We treat efflorescence before sealing, not after because sealing over mineral deposits locks them in permanently and creates a result no one wants.

Paver Savers also offers financing options, which makes it easier to get the full job done at once rather than deferring maintenance that only gets more expensive over time. We serve both residential and commercial clients throughout Commack and the surrounding communities in western Suffolk County, including Hauppauge, Dix Hills, Kings Park, and East Northport. If your pavers span multiple surfaces or a larger commercial property, we handle that too with the same process, the same equipment, and the same team.

How do I know if my Commack pavers need cleaning or full replacement?

This is the most common question we get, and the answer is almost always the same: if the foundation underneath is stable, you probably don’t need to replace anything. The surface can look genuinely bad stained, faded, weedy, cracked at the joints and still be completely restorable. The key is the structural condition of the base, not the appearance of the surface.

For Commack homeowners, this question comes up a lot because the paver driveways and patios in this area are often 20 to 35 years old. They’ve been through hundreds of freeze-thaw cycles, Long Island’s sandy soil has shifted beneath them, and the joint sand has eroded over time. That combination produces a surface that looks like it’s done but usually isn’t. A proper assessment before any work starts will tell you exactly what’s needed.

For most Commack properties, cleaning every one to two years and sealing every two to three years is the right maintenance rhythm. Commack’s inland position means your pavers go through more pronounced freeze-thaw cycling than coastal communities on Long Island the temperature oscillates above and below freezing more frequently without the moderating effect of the Sound or the ocean. That makes regular maintenance more important here.

The clearest sign that it’s time to reseal is the water test: pour a small amount of water on your pavers. If it beads up, the sealer is still working. If it soaks in, the sealer has worn down and your surface is exposed. You might also notice fading color, weed growth returning in the joints, or the joint sand starting to wash out after rain. Any of those signs means it’s time to schedule a cleaning and reseal before the next winter cycle does more damage.

Polymeric sand is a joint filler that contains binding agents when it’s activated with water, it hardens and locks the joints between your pavers. Unlike regular sand, which washes out after a few heavy rains and leaves gaps that weeds and ants can move into, polymeric sand stays in place. When professionally installed, it can last up to 10 years.

For Commack properties specifically, this matters because Long Island’s sandy soil is already prone to shifting and settling. When joint sand erodes on top of that, the pavers lose lateral support and begin to shift, sink, or crack at the edges. Weed roots that grow into open joints cause structural damage over time, not just cosmetic issues. Polymeric sand is the right solution for the conditions here, and it’s a standard part of the process when we’re doing a full cleaning and sealing job.

We work on all of them concrete, brick, and natural stone including bluestone, travertine, marble, limestone, and granite. The process and the products we use are different depending on the material, which is where experience matters. The wrong sealer on the wrong surface causes real problems: white haze, peeling, a slippery finish, or color changes that the homeowner didn’t ask for.

Bluestone is common on Long Island patios and walkways, and it has its own set of considerations it’s more porous than concrete and requires a sealer that penetrates rather than forms a film on top. Travertine pool decks need a different approach than a brick paver driveway. The point is that there’s no universal product or method that works across every material. We assess the surface first and match the approach to what’s actually there, which is how you get a result that holds up rather than one that fails in the first winter.

In most cases, yes and the math is pretty straightforward. Full paver replacement on Long Island runs $8,000 to $12,000 or more depending on the size and material. If the foundation is sound, professional cleaning and sealing delivers a dramatically improved surface at a fraction of that cost. The age of the pavers matters less than the condition of the base underneath them.

We’ve restored pavers in Commack that were over 30 years old and had them looking like new after the full process cleaning, efflorescence treatment, polymeric sand, and sealing. The freeze-thaw cycles and sandy soil conditions here do accelerate surface wear, but that’s exactly what professional restoration is designed to address. If you’ve been told your pavers need to be replaced, it’s worth getting a second opinion from someone who specializes in restoration before committing to that cost.

Yes, Commack is well within our service area. We’re based in West Babylon and serve all of Suffolk County, including Commack and the surrounding communities Hauppauge, Dix Hills, Kings Park, East Northport, and Smithtown. The Sagtikos State Parkway connects our base directly to Commack, so we’re not traveling across the Island to get to you.

Booking lead times vary by season. Spring is our busiest window on Long Island once the freeze-thaw damage from winter becomes visible and homeowners start preparing for outdoor season, demand picks up quickly. If you’re planning to have work done in the spring, reaching out earlier gives you more flexibility on scheduling. Fall bookings tend to have more availability, and getting your pavers sealed before winter is one of the most effective things you can do to protect them from the next round of freeze-thaw damage.
