Paver Savers performed a Efflorence Treatment, Surface Cleaning & Pressure Washing, Polymeric Sand Install and Natural Stone Sealer to my front and backyard pavers. I had a couple sections with stubborn efflorence that they were able to remove as shown below. I strongly recommend using them rather than trying to do it yourself, its worth the costs. They have professional equipment and personnel that know what they're doing. The owner Jon and foreman Gino were a pleasure to deal with.

Paver Savers cleaned our pavers and restored the polymeric sand. All the unsightly moss and old sand were removed and replaced with a minimum of mess or cleanup. They came when they promised, and they completed the job quickly. The result is great; we have a beautifully clean and well detailed driveway. I would highly recommend them. John C. Holbrook

Paver Savers came highly recommended and rightfully so. Jon spoke with my wife and I and did not rush us off the phone. He agreed to a time and date convenient for us. He arrived when he said he would and we walked around the house. He made an accurate assessment of what was needed to be done and gave us a very fair quote. He answered all our questions and provided a detailed synopsis of all the work that was to be performed. He suggested sand colors which were totally in line with what matched our pavers and made it easy for our discerning eyes to choose a color. He also gave us the pros and cons of clear versus colored coatings, making it easy to choose. We only had to wait a few days for the work to commence, contingent on the weather. Jon explained that any rainy weather would not be conducive to a good result and he completed the cleaning and sand application on a beautiful rain-free day. The stones looked brand new! The clear coating was applied on the next rain-free day and the results were astounding! The clean and coated pavers make our property appearance renewed. We've already received compliments on how nice the property looks, thanks to a job well done!

Jon and his team were a lifesaver for our patio. We were constantly getting weeds and ant hills through the cracks of our patio. Jons team was efficient and make the process quick for us. Once we booked Jon gave us his cell number and answered every question I had especially since we have a dog so we were nervous. He gave us all the tips and tricks to make it last longer and our pavers look brand new. Couldn’t thank him enough.

John and his crew were professional , neat and clean. They made my pool pavers, steps and walkways look brand new at a very good price point, considering the work went into into a project like mine. They literally saved my pavers, true to their name. John was honest and fair and most importantly truthful. Everything he told me I was in for happened just as he explained it up front. No surprises. No upselling. Stuck to his estimate and was there when he said he would be. Easy to communicate and schedule with. Great job and a stress free experience.

I highly recommend Long Island Paver Savers. Jon was a pleasure to work with and delivered on all aspects of the job. The crew was neat, efficient and very professional. Pavers are such a nice embellishment to a home but if they are soiled and lack their original luster it’s nothing but an eyesore. This was well worth the investment and I am extremely satisfied with the final result. Once again I highly recommend this company and you won’t be disappointed!

My pavers needed some serious help. The Paver Savers team cleaned everything so thoroughly, resanded the whole patio, and sealed. They look brand new. Jon and his team were a pleasure to work with. Thank you!!

Paver Restoration Services Suffolk County

What Your Hardscape Looks Like When It's Actually Done Right

When pavers are properly cleaned, re-sanded, and sealed, the difference isn’t subtle. Colors come back. Joints tighten up. The surface stops feeling slippery and starts looking like it did when it was first installed.

For Brookhaven homeowners specifically, that process matters more than it does in a lot of other places. The Town of Brookhaven is the only Long Island town that borders both the North Shore and South Shore, which means your hardscapes are dealing with salt air exposure from two directions Long Island Sound to the north, Great South Bay and the Atlantic to the south. That kind of sustained coastal moisture accelerates efflorescence, feeds algae growth, and degrades unsealed paver surfaces faster than you’d see in a purely inland community.

Every winter brings the same freeze-thaw cycle that quietly does damage most homeowners don’t notice until it’s significant. Water gets into joints and the sub-base, freezes, expands, and shifts things. Sealed pavers handle that cycle. Unsealed ones don’t at least not for long. Getting ahead of it is almost always cheaper than dealing with what comes after you don’t.

Professional Paver Cleaning Company Brookhaven

Nearly 50 Years of Experience Serving Brookhaven and Eastern Long Island

We are a family-owned company based in West Babylon right on the western edge of the Town of Brookhaven fully licensed, insured, and built around doing paver cleaning, sealing, and restoration the right way. Not as a side service. Not as an add-on to something else. This is all we do, and our team brings nearly 50 years of combined experience to every job.

That depth matters when you’re working across a town as large and varied as Brookhaven. From the older housing stock in Centereach and Coram to the waterfront properties along the North Shore in Stony Brook and Setauket, to the South Shore neighborhoods running along Sunrise Highway through Bellport and Shirley the conditions and the challenges are different everywhere. We’ve seen all of it.

We’re fully licensed and insured, which in a market full of guys with a pressure washer and no credentials is worth more than it sounds. If something goes wrong, you’re covered. That’s not common in this industry, and it should be.

Brick Paver Cleaning Process Long Island

No Shortcuts Here's Exactly What Our Process Covers

The first thing that happens on any job is a proper assessment. Before anything gets cleaned or sealed, the surface needs to be evaluated what material are we working with, what kind of damage is present, are there structural issues that need to be addressed before cleaning begins. Skipping this step is how jobs go wrong.

From there, the cleaning itself uses commercial-grade hot water equipment not the kind of pressure washer you rent from a hardware store. Hot water removes oil, grease, mold, algae, and the organic staining that cold water simply can’t break down.

For homeowners in the eastern parts of Brookhaven near the Long Island Central Pine Barrens communities like Manorville, Ridge, and Middle Island pine tannin staining is a specific issue that requires this kind of targeted cleaning approach. Pine needles are acidic, they trap moisture, and they leave behind discoloration that lingers on light-colored pavers if it’s not treated properly.

After cleaning, we refill joints with polymeric sand, which hardens when activated and stays locked for years stopping the weed growth and ant tunneling that regular sand can’t prevent. If any pavers have shifted or sunk, we address that before sealing. Then the sealer goes down, chosen based on your specific paver material and finish preference. The whole sequence matters. Each step sets up the next one, and leaving any of them out is how you end up with a result that doesn’t hold.

Driveway and Patio Paver Cleaning Brookhaven, NY

Every Surface Gets What the Conditions Here Actually Demand

We handle concrete pavers, brick pavers, and natural stone including bluestone, travertine, marble, limestone, and granite. That covers driveways, patios, walkways, pool decks, and commercial hardscapes. Whatever the surface, our approach is tailored to the material, not applied the same way across the board.

In Brookhaven, that specificity is especially relevant for pool deck surfaces. With the town’s strong outdoor living culture and beach-adjacent lifestyle, pool decks see heavy use from May through October. Algae growth on unsealed pool deck pavers isn’t just an aesthetic problem it’s a slip hazard. Proper cleaning and sealing eliminates that growth and keeps the surface safe and presentable through the full season.

We also offer financing options, which makes a real difference in a town as economically diverse as Brookhaven. Whether you’re in Stony Brook or Shirley, the replacement cost for a full paver driveway or patio on Long Island runs into the thousands. Restoration through professional cleaning and sealing is almost always the smarter financial path when the foundation is still sound and financing means you don’t have to choose between doing it right and doing it now. We serve both residential and commercial clients throughout the Town of Brookhaven and the broader Suffolk County area.

How often should Brookhaven homeowners clean and seal their pavers?

For most homeowners in Brookhaven, cleaning every one to two years and resealing every two to three years is the right cadence. That said, Brookhaven’s specific conditions can push that timeline toward the more frequent end of the range. The town’s dual coastal exposure salt air from both the Long Island Sound side and the Great South Bay side accelerates surface degradation and biological growth faster than you’d see in a more sheltered inland area.

A good practical test: pour a small amount of water on your pavers. If it soaks in rather than beading up, the sealer has broken down and it’s time to reseal. If you’re also seeing white mineral deposits on the surface, weed growth coming through the joints, or noticeable fading in color, those are signs the pavers need attention now rather than later. Waiting typically means more work and higher cost when you do get to it.

In most cases, yes restoration is possible, and it’s almost always the better financial decision when the foundation underneath is still structurally sound. Full paver replacement on Long Island runs into the thousands of dollars. Professional cleaning and restoration is a fraction of that cost and can bring pavers back to looking the way they did when they were first installed.

The key question is the sub-base. If the base has shifted significantly, if drainage has failed, or if individual pavers are cracked beyond repair, then replacement of those specific pieces may be necessary. But staining, discoloration, efflorescence, weed growth, and surface fading all of the things that make pavers look like they’re done are almost always treatable. We’ve restored pavers in Brookhaven that homeowners were ready to tear out. It’s worth getting an assessment before you commit to replacement.

Efflorescence is the white, chalky residue that appears on paver surfaces when water moves through the material and pulls soluble salts to the surface, where they dry and crystallize. It’s extremely common on Long Island, and Brookhaven homeowners tend to see it more than most because of the town’s coastal moisture exposure from both the North Shore and South Shore.

It’s not a structural problem on its own, but it needs to be treated before sealing if you seal over active efflorescence, you lock it in permanently and it becomes much harder to address later. The treatment involves a neutralizing agent that breaks down the mineral deposits before the surface is cleaned. This is a step that some contractors skip, either because they don’t know better or because it adds time to the job. We treat efflorescence as a standard part of our process, not an optional add-on.

Polymeric sand is a joint filler that contains binding agents when it gets wet, it activates and hardens into a firm, stable material that locks the joints between pavers. Regular sand washes out after a few heavy rains, leaving gaps that weeds, ants, and moisture can move into. Polymeric sand, when professionally installed, can hold up for close to ten years.

For Brookhaven homeowners, this matters year-round. Spring rains along the South Shore communities and summer humidity across the town create ideal conditions for weed germination in open paver joints. If you’ve been pulling weeds between your pavers every season and spraying herbicide that lasts a few weeks, polymeric sand is the actual solution to that problem not a temporary fix. It also stabilizes the joints against the freeze-thaw movement that Long Island winters cause every year, which reduces the risk of pavers shifting or sinking over time.

Yes, when it’s done correctly. The sealers we use are applied after the surface has been fully cleaned and dried, and the products are chosen based on the specific paver material and the environment around it. For pool deck areas, the finish we select also accounts for slip resistance a wet-look high-gloss sealer on a pool deck isn’t the right call, and a professional will factor that in before anything gets applied.

For areas close to landscaping, the concern is usually runoff during the cleaning phase. Commercial cleaning agents and the debris they remove need to be managed so they don’t discharge into garden beds, drainage areas, or nearby water. The Town of Brookhaven has stormwater regulations in place specifically around this kind of discharge, and working with a licensed, professional contractor means the job is handled in a way that’s compliant with those requirements not just effective for your pavers, but responsible for the property around them.

Cloudy or white sealer is one of the most common complaints homeowners have after a DIY attempt or a job done by an inexperienced contractor. It almost always comes down to one of three things: the sealer was applied over a surface that wasn’t completely dry, the wrong type of sealer was used for the material or conditions, or too much sealer was applied in a single coat.

Moisture trapped under a film-forming sealer has nowhere to go, so it creates a hazy, milky appearance that’s difficult to reverse. This is a particular risk on Long Island in the spring and fall, when temperatures fluctuate and surfaces can look dry but still hold moisture in the joints. Solvent-based and water-based sealers also behave differently on different materials using the wrong one for your specific paver type leads to adhesion failures and discoloration. The way to avoid all of this is straightforward: proper surface prep, the right product for the material, applied in the right conditions by someone who’s done it enough times to know the difference.
