Paver Savers performed a Efflorence Treatment, Surface Cleaning & Pressure Washing, Polymeric Sand Install and Natural Stone Sealer to my front and backyard pavers. I had a couple sections with stubborn efflorence that they were able to remove as shown below. I strongly recommend using them rather than trying to do it yourself, its worth the costs. They have professional equipment and personnel that know what they're doing. The owner Jon and foreman Gino were a pleasure to deal with.

Paver Savers cleaned our pavers and restored the polymeric sand. All the unsightly moss and old sand were removed and replaced with a minimum of mess or cleanup. They came when they promised, and they completed the job quickly. The result is great; we have a beautifully clean and well detailed driveway. I would highly recommend them. John C. Holbrook

Paver Savers came highly recommended and rightfully so. Jon spoke with my wife and I and did not rush us off the phone. He agreed to a time and date convenient for us. He arrived when he said he would and we walked around the house. He made an accurate assessment of what was needed to be done and gave us a very fair quote. He answered all our questions and provided a detailed synopsis of all the work that was to be performed. He suggested sand colors which were totally in line with what matched our pavers and made it easy for our discerning eyes to choose a color. He also gave us the pros and cons of clear versus colored coatings, making it easy to choose. We only had to wait a few days for the work to commence, contingent on the weather. Jon explained that any rainy weather would not be conducive to a good result and he completed the cleaning and sand application on a beautiful rain-free day. The stones looked brand new! The clear coating was applied on the next rain-free day and the results were astounding! The clean and coated pavers make our property appearance renewed. We've already received compliments on how nice the property looks, thanks to a job well done!

Jon and his team were a lifesaver for our patio. We were constantly getting weeds and ant hills through the cracks of our patio. Jons team was efficient and make the process quick for us. Once we booked Jon gave us his cell number and answered every question I had especially since we have a dog so we were nervous. He gave us all the tips and tricks to make it last longer and our pavers look brand new. Couldn’t thank him enough.

John and his crew were professional , neat and clean. They made my pool pavers, steps and walkways look brand new at a very good price point, considering the work went into into a project like mine. They literally saved my pavers, true to their name. John was honest and fair and most importantly truthful. Everything he told me I was in for happened just as he explained it up front. No surprises. No upselling. Stuck to his estimate and was there when he said he would be. Easy to communicate and schedule with. Great job and a stress free experience.

I highly recommend Long Island Paver Savers. Jon was a pleasure to work with and delivered on all aspects of the job. The crew was neat, efficient and very professional. Pavers are such a nice embellishment to a home but if they are soiled and lack their original luster it’s nothing but an eyesore. This was well worth the investment and I am extremely satisfied with the final result. Once again I highly recommend this company and you won’t be disappointed!

Paver Restoration Services Barnum Island

Pavers That Hold Up to Shell Harbor and Shell Creek

Barnum Island isn’t just near the water it’s surrounded by it. Shell Harbor and Shell Creek wrap around this community on multiple sides, which means your pavers are pulling in salt air from every direction, every single day. That continuous salt exposure draws moisture into the material, speeds up the white mineral deposits you see forming on the surface, and breaks down sealer bonds faster than anything you’d deal with on a typical Long Island street.

The result is that pavers here age faster than they should and they need more than a pressure wash to actually fix it. When professional cleaning and sealing is done right, the difference is immediate. Staining lifts. Weed growth stops. The joint sand that washes out after every significant storm gets replaced with something that actually stays put. And the surface is sealed in a way that gives it real protection going into the next freeze-thaw cycle which, at seven feet above sea level, hits differently here than it does inland.

For homeowners with waterfront patios, dock-adjacent walkways, or driveways that double as boat trailer lanes, the practical upside is straightforward: surfaces that look clean, stay cleaner longer, and don’t need to be replaced before their time.

Professional Paver Cleaning Company Barnum Island

Nearly 50 Years Serving Barnum Island and South Shore Communities

We’re a family-owned company based in West Babylon, serving residential and commercial clients across Nassau and Suffolk counties including the South Shore communities that deal with the kind of coastal wear Barnum Island homeowners know well. Our team brings nearly 50 years of combined experience to every job, which means we’ve seen every type of paver damage, every material, and every way a Long Island winter or storm surge can compromise a hardscape that wasn’t properly maintained.

We’re fully licensed and insured and compliant with New York’s construction regulations not just as a formality, but because it matters when you’re working near bulkheads, docks, and flood zone properties where the stakes of substandard work are higher. In a tight-knit community of under 2,500 residents, our track record carries weight. We’ve already served Barnum Island clients and earned the kind of reviews that reflect it.

Paver Cleaning Process Barnum Island, NY

No Shortcuts Here's What Actually Gets Done

The process starts with a thorough assessment of what you’re actually dealing with the type of paver material, the condition of the joints, any shifting or cracking, and how much salt and biological buildup has accumulated. In Barnum Island, that last part often requires more attention than it would in an inland town. Salt deposits and efflorescence the white mineral bloom that signals water is moving through your paver material need to be treated and neutralized before anything else happens.

If that step gets skipped and you seal over it, it’s locked in permanently. From there, the surface gets deep-cleaned using commercial-grade hot water systems, not consumer pressure washers. The heat matters it’s what actually lifts oil stains, kills algae and mold, and prepares the surface properly for what comes next.

Once the pavers are clean and fully dry, the joints are re-sanded with polymeric sand, which hardens when activated and resists the kind of washout that happens after every heavy rain or storm surge event. Any shifted or sunken pavers get leveled and re-laid before sealing begins. The sealer goes on last, after everything else is done correctly. The specific product depends on the paver material and the finish you want we use high-quality sealers in a range of finishes, chosen based on what’s actually right for your surface.

Spring and fall are the best windows for this work in Barnum Island, and we’ll tell you honestly if timing or weather conditions need to be factored in before scheduling.

Brick and Patio Paver Cleaning Barnum Island

Every Paver Material, Every Surface, Done Right

We work across the full range of materials concrete pavers, brick pavers, and natural stone including bluestone, travertine, marble, limestone, and granite. That matters in Barnum Island, where older homes built in the 1960s and 1970s often have a mix of materials installed across different eras, and where waterfront properties tend to feature premium stone that requires a different approach than standard concrete.

Our service covers driveways, patios, walkways, and pool decks including surfaces adjacent to docks and bulkheads, where the cleaning process needs to account for nearby water and structures. Every job includes the full sequence: cleaning, efflorescence treatment where needed, polymeric sand installation, leveling of any shifted pavers, and sealing. Nothing gets skipped because it’s inconvenient.

For Barnum Island homeowners whose pavers are showing the cumulative effects of years of salt air, storm surge, and freeze-thaw cycles, restoration is almost always the right call when the foundation is still stable. Full paver replacement on Long Island runs $8,000 to $12,000 or more. Professional cleaning and sealing delivers a result that looks new and holds up without that cost. Financing options are also available for homeowners who want the work done now rather than waiting while the damage compounds.

How does living in a flood zone affect my pavers in Barnum Island?

Barnum Island sits at seven feet above sea level and is designated as a FEMA flood zone most residents here carry flood insurance as a matter of course. What that means for your pavers is that they’re periodically exposed to salt water infiltration, which is one of the most damaging things that can happen to a hardscape.

When flood water recedes, it leaves behind silt and biological material packed into the joints, dissolves the joint sand that holds everything in place, and saturates the paver material with salt that will draw moisture back in long after the water is gone. Pavers that look fine after a storm can have compromised joints and hidden moisture damage that shows up as cracking and shifting over the following winter. The freeze-thaw cycle does the rest water that got in during the flood freezes, expands, and widens those gaps further.

The right response after a significant flooding event isn’t just a rinse. It’s a full cleaning, efflorescence treatment, polymeric sand replacement, and resealing the same process we use on every job. That’s what actually addresses the damage rather than covering it up.

For most Long Island homeowners, cleaning every one to two years and sealing every two to three years is the standard recommendation. For Barnum Island specifically, the coastal environment pushes that toward the more frequent end of that range. Salt air deposits accumulate continuously from Shell Harbor and Shell Creek, and the combination of salt, humidity, and freeze-thaw stress degrades sealer bonds faster here than in inland communities further north or east on the island.

A good practical test is to pour a small amount of water on your pavers. If it soaks in rather than beading on the surface, the sealer has broken down and it’s time to reseal. Other signs include visible efflorescence, weed growth returning in the joints, color fading, or joint sand that’s washing out after rain. If you’re seeing any of those, don’t wait the longer unsealed pavers are exposed to salt and moisture in a flood zone environment, the more structural damage accumulates below the surface.

In most cases, restoration is absolutely possible and far more cost-effective than replacement. The key question is whether the foundation underneath is still stable. If your pavers are cracked, stained, faded, or have weeds pushing through the joints, that doesn’t mean they’re beyond saving. Those are surface and joint problems that professional cleaning, re-sanding, and sealing can address.

Even pavers that have shifted or sunk can often be releveled and re-laid as part of the restoration process. Full paver replacement on Long Island costs $8,000 to $12,000 or more depending on the scope. For Barnum Island homeowners with waterfront properties, that’s a significant expense that’s often completely avoidable. We’ll assess the condition of your pavers honestly and tell you whether restoration makes sense or whether replacement is genuinely necessary.

Efflorescence is the white, powdery or chalky deposit that forms on the surface of pavers when water moves through the material and carries dissolved minerals to the surface, where they crystallize as the water evaporates. It’s not just a cosmetic issue it’s a sign that water is actively moving through your paver material, which accelerates the freeze-thaw damage that causes cracking and joint erosion over time.

In Barnum Island, efflorescence is especially common because the surrounding waterways create constant moisture exposure from multiple directions. Salt in the air is hygroscopic it attracts and holds water which keeps the paver material wetter for longer between rain events. The critical thing to understand is that efflorescence must be treated and neutralized before any sealing is done. If you seal over it, you lock it in permanently and the result is a cloudy, hazy sealer that looks worse than the problem you started with. We treat efflorescence as a specific step in the process it’s not optional, and it’s not skipped.

Polymeric sand is a joint filler that contains binding agents which activate when wet and then harden as the sand dries. Unlike regular joint sand, which washes out after a few heavy rains, polymeric sand locks the joints in place and resists erosion, weed infiltration, and ant tunneling. When professionally applied, it can last up to ten years.

For Barnum Island homeowners, this is particularly relevant because regular joint sand doesn’t stand a chance against the rain, storm surge, and tidal conditions this community deals with. If you’ve noticed weeds growing back between your pavers no matter what you do, or joint sand disappearing after every significant storm, polymeric sand is the fix not another round of pulling weeds and pouring in more regular sand. Beyond the weed and washout issue, stable joints are also what keep your pavers from shifting and sinking over time. When the sand washes out, the structural integrity of the entire surface starts to go with it. Replacing it with polymeric sand as part of a full cleaning and sealing job addresses the root cause rather than the symptom.

Yes, and it’s a common situation in Barnum Island. Driveways here do a different kind of work than they do in a typical suburban neighborhood. Beyond daily car traffic, many homeowners are maneuvering boat trailers in and out regularly throughout the boating season, which means the surface deals with heavier loads, oil and mechanical residue, and the physical stress of trailer tires tracking in and out across the same path repeatedly.

That kind of use accelerates staining and surface wear in ways that a standard residential driveway doesn’t see. Commercial-grade hot water cleaning is what actually lifts the oil stains and grease that accumulate from marine equipment cold water pressure washing doesn’t cut it for that type of contamination. Once the surface is properly cleaned, the right sealer creates a barrier that makes future staining easier to manage and slows the rate at which the surface shows wear. If your driveway pavers are also adjacent to a dock or bulkhead, we take care around those structures and manage runoff responsibly to protect the nearby water something that matters in a waterfront community like Barnum Island.
